Juliane Maria Hoffmann deals in her work with the interplay of socially given structures and individual scope for action. The sketch Meditation on artistic work was created in preparation for a wall piece in the communal kitchen of the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen. It encourages people to reflect deadlocked patterns of thought and action, to think fluidly about social structures and to engage in mutual exchange.
Juliane Maria Hoffmann (* 1980, Zeulenroda) lives and works as a freelance artist, graphic designer and illustrator in Leipzig. In 2021 she received a scholarship from the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen Foundation.

The series of poems if in, un do are text collages that were created from the information folder of the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen Foundation. The poems are limited to the existing text material and still point beyond. Language becomes comprehensible as something dynamic. The initial question of the project was how artistic work relates to given structures and how it can position itself within them. This is exemplified here as a literary production vis-à-vis the text framework of the institution within which it takes place. Cutting up the word material is not considered destructive, but as an opportunity to uncover potential and open up alternative perspectives.
Cornelia Hülmbauer (* 1982, AT) lives and works as a freelance writer in Vienna. In 2021 she received a scholarship from the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen Foundation.
