Regeneration
Regeneration

The Künstlerdorf works on several levels as a space for concentration, reflection and regeneration. Processes for reconfirmation, reorientation or correction are to be initiated. This results in innovation potentials as well as opportunities for regeneration on an individual, structural and global level.

. individual perspective

Stiftung Künstlerdorf Schöppingen’s fellows are at the center of our work. The residency serves the own artistic work and the personal and professional development. The concrete needs arise from the respective creative phases or life circumstances. We trust the expertise of our fellows in setting goals in connection with the residency and accompany their fellowship individually within the scope of our possibilities. The Künstlerdorf Schöppingen attaches great importance to collegial consultation and knowledge exchange in a supportive and non-competitive setting.

. structural perspective

The Künstlerdorf is a place of creation and residence for temporary communities of fellows in continuously varying constellations. We take our responsibility seriously by creating the right framework and conditions for the residency to resonate. In doing so, we rely on the principles of reciprocity and conviviality.
We deepen our experience with regard to the needs of artistic creation within the framework of the annual CAP program. The aim of CAP is to discuss production conditions and implementation issues for artistic practices and to develop new strategies and structures in the arts.

. global perspective

When it comes to questions of mobility, production and organization, the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen focuses on a resource-saving use of materials and energy. Going beyond aspects of sustainability, we see a need for regeneration in the ecological and social context. As part of its mission to support artists, the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen recognizes different needs and unequal prerequisites in the perception of the fellowship and accompanies them individually.

Given the complexity of aspects of co-habitation and potential for conflict in engaged exchange, the Stiftung Künstlerdorf Schöppingen is currently developing a policy and a code of conduct for the residency program.
